ROTTE-DAM, the winning project in the Wijnhaventunnel, by the former students Robbert de Groot and Cees Boot, has a good chance at winning the 2013 Rotterdam Architecture Prize. Constructed at a historic spot close to where the medieval dam was built across the Rotte and the city had its origins, ROTTE-DAM is rising rapidly on the ladder in this competition, which has ‘Transformation’ as its theme.
This project was the outcome of a commission from the city of Rotterdam, in cooperation with students at the Willem de Kooning Academy. The Rotterdam Architecture Prize 2013 is an initiative of the City of Rotterdam and is organized by AIR.
