In the Rotterdam neighbourhood Charlois, the Havenspoorpad was once an old railway spur which was used during the construction of the nearby port facilities. The District Council of Charlois wanted much more green space in its area, and drew up a joint plan with residents to plant trees which would be ‘adopted’ by residents along the Havenspoorpad. As many as 275 names of dear departed relatives were painted on the asphalt, and near the eight trees there will be a large boulder with their names on a metal plaque. A wonderful way of keeping their memory fresh and green, no?
The District of Charlois asked Mothership for a suitable plan. The advertising studio of Leo Mineur painted the 275 names on the asphalt.
