Martand Khosla
On Friday, 12 July, at 4:00 p.m., the skateable artwork Twist & Shout by the New Delhi native Martand Khosla will be opened with a skatebration. In 2010 Showroom MAMA organized ‘Reclaiming the Street’, an international contest for which competitors had to come up with ideas for an art object which was also skateable. Twist & Shout surpassed everyone’s expectations because it was so darned straightforward, so darned effective, and in all its simplicity possessed a powerful sculptural beauty. The ramp is designed to offer the skateboarder as much of a challenge as possible, that has got to be conquered, at any cost.
